YOUTUBE MOBILE APP ADDS TIMESTAMPED VIDEO SHARING

Users can now share timestamped links directly from YouTube's mobile application, eliminating the need to describe or estimate where in a video a specific moment occurs. The update simplifies sharing on mobile devices, where pointing someone to a particular segment previously required more explanation or workarounds. The change does come with a trade-off: YouTube is discontinuing the Clips feature that allowed users to create shareable edited clips from videos. Existing Clips will remain viewable, but users won't be able to create new ones or set custom end times for shares. The timestamped sharing capability has been available on YouTube's web version for some time. This mobile rollout brings feature parity between platforms and streamlines how users share video content across devices.
