NINTENDO SHUTS DOWN MARIO KART TOUR ON SEPT 30

Mario Kart Tour, Nintendo's free-to-play mobile racing title launched in 2019, will cease operations in three months. Players will lose access to the game and its online features after the shutdown date. Nintendo did not announce an offline alternative, meaning the game will become completely unplayable once servers go offline. This follows Nintendo's standard practice with live-service mobile titles, similar to the shutdown of Dr. Mario World in 2021. The decision affects millions of players who have invested time and money into the game since its release on iOS and Android. Mario Kart Tour generated significant revenue through in-app purchases and battle passes during its five-year run. Players have until September 30 to spend any remaining premium currency before it becomes inaccessible.
