Google has rolled out an update enabling Fitbit users to sync their fitness data directly to Apple Health. The long-requested feature eliminates the need for third-party workarounds.
Google Health's version 5.05 update introduces one-way data transfer from Fitbit to Apple Health. Users can now connect their accounts by tapping their profile icon, selecting "Partner apps," and choosing Apple Health to link.
The update covers workouts, steps, vitals, and other health metrics. Previously, the integration only worked in reverse—users could import Apple Health data into Google Health but had no official way to send Fitbit information to Apple's ecosystem.
This gap forced users toward third-party applications like Power Sync for Fitbit to bridge the two platforms. The native integration removes that dependency and simplifies data management for users relying on both Fitbit devices and Apple Health.
The update addresses a common complaint among users invested in multiple health ecosystems, though the one-way sync means Apple Health users cannot yet push data back to Google Health.
