Anthropic has released Docs and Slides for Claude, allowing users to create, edit, and share documents and presentations directly within chat. The company is also consolidating its interface by merging Claude chat and Cowork into a single platform.
Anthropic is expanding Claude's productivity suite with two new tools designed to compete directly with Google's Gemini offerings. Docs and Slides enable users to generate formatted documents and presentations through conversational prompts, which can then be exported, edited, and shared with collaborators.
The releases are part of a broader platform reorganization. Anthropic is retiring its separate Cowork interface, folding its collaborative features into the main Claude chat. This consolidation creates a unified workspace where users can access Artifacts, Design capabilities, Docs, Slides, and Cowork tools from any conversation—eliminating the need to switch between interfaces.
The new features roll out first to Claude Pro and Max subscribers. Pro plans cost $20 monthly, while Max plans cost $200 monthly.
The move directly challenges Google's Gemini ecosystem, which has been expanding its document and presentation creation features. By embedding productivity tools into its chat interface, Anthropic is positioning Claude as a more integrated alternative to Google's suite of AI-powered office applications.
