Mac Mini Updates
The new Mac Mini lineup includes two configurations: a base model with the M6 chip and a higher-end variant featuring the M5 Pro processor. Both models maintain the compact design established by 2024's M4 generation but deliver upgraded internal components and improved performance.
The M6 Mac Mini starts at $899, representing a $200 increase from the previous M4 model. The M5 Pro version begins at $1,699, also $100 higher than its predecessor. Both models feature faster ethernet ports alongside their performance upgrades.
Mac Studio Consolidation
Apple's Mac Studio refresh unifies the product line under a single chip generation for the first time in over a year. The new models use the existing M5 Max and introduce the all-new M5 Ultra, described by Apple as its "most powerful chip ever."
This consolidation resolves the confusing split from 2024, when Apple offered the Mac Studio with M4 Max chips while the higher-end model used an older M3 Ultra processor—despite the M3 Ultra actually being more powerful. No M4 Ultra chip was ever released.
The Mac Studio retains its familiar compact form factor from previous generations. Pricing starts at $2,499, matching the cost of the current model.
Availability
Both machines are available for preorder directly from Apple beginning immediately. Most configurations will begin shipping on September 22nd, 2026.
